Malware detection is a huge task to undertake.
Everyday 323,000 new malware threats are discovered, according to Kaspersky Labs.
So big is the task that human discovery alone, is an impossible exercise. As the threat from malware grows larger each day, Kaspersky utilise an automated system to help discover and protect, from the malware surge.
They call her Astraea and this automated process does a large bulk of the work, with over 40% of new malware detected and added to Kaspersky’s databases by Astrea in 2016.
